Updates on Cat’s condition

18 07 2008

After going for the CT scan, the gastroenterlogy specialist determined that Cat was suffering from some intestinal infection, and this condition should likely to have started during pregnancy itself.

Hearing this, we could only relate to slightly more than a fortnight ago, where I had to bring Cat down to Thomson Medical Centre’s 24-hour emergency centre due to a bad constipation. That could have been a symptom of this infection.

Anyway, she had some more injection of medication via her IV drip, and the doctor told her to stop all intake of food and liquid. Thus her meals stopped arriving, and she could only take sips of water occassionally.

She still had the burping sensation, and letting out of her gastric gases. However, she is feeling much better than she was the night before. Before I left her for home, she still got occassional discomfort, but she could bear with it, and should most likely be sound asleep by now.

The doctor has also speculated that she would be warded for another 3 or 4 days, so Darius will be in TMC during this period too. As for the hospital bills, I’m sure we will find some ways to handle it.
